Founders

David Mills, originally from Ipswich, England, has always been driven by a passion for fitness and adventure. After earning a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, David served as a soldier in Afghanistan, where he developed a profound appreciation for discipline, resilience, and the critical importance of physical fitness.
Twelve years ago, David moved to Aspen, Colorado, captivated by its stunning landscapes and active lifestyle. It was here that he recognized the need for a gym that truly catered to the unique demands of high-altitude athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. With his extensive background in fitness and his military experience, David, along with his wife, Danielle Mills, founded Ajax Fitness. Their goal was to create a state-of-the-art facility that combined cutting-edge equipment, expert coaching, and personalized recovery options, making it the ultimate destination for both locals and visitors to push their limits and achieve their best. David’s military service, academic background in Sports and Exercise Science, and love for Aspen are reflected in every aspect of Ajax Fitness. The gym is designed to be more than just a place to work out; it’s a community hub where strength, resilience, and excellence come together. Certified Personal Trainer

As the Head Personal Trainer at Ajax Fitness, I bring over 14 years of experience in strength training, conditioning, and sports performance. I hold certifications from NSCA, TSAC-F, and ACE, and specialize in tactical strength and conditioning, working with athletes and individuals to enhance their performance.

Since beginning my career in 2010, I’ve had the privilege of helping a wide range of clients achieve their fitness goals through personalized, sustainable training programs. With a deep understanding of human physiology, I design workouts tailored to each individual’s needs, whether they’re looking to build strength, improve endurance, or enhance sports-specific skills.

My passion for fitness and wellness is deeply personal. I witnessed the drastic decline in my mother’s health, who went blind at 40 due to treatable diabetes. This experience drives my commitment to empowering others to take control of their health and prevent similar outcomes.

I believe in a holistic approach to fitness, where steady progress leads to long-term results. It’s not just about lifting weights-it’s about improving overall function, health, and performance in all aspects of life.

When I’m not training clients at Ajax Fitness, I continue to expand my knowledge of fitness, science, and the latest training techniques. I’m committed to helping people become stronger, healthier, and more resilient versions of themselves.

In 2013, Erin embarked on a transformative path as she made her way to the valley. Since then, she has been an instrumental force in the realms of fitness and sports medicine, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touches. Her journey commenced at the prestigious Aspen Club, where her dedication and passion took flight. Erin’s primary focus lies in working with clients on their journey to reclaim their strength after injury or strive for specific strength and conditioning goals. With her deep understanding of the human body and unwavering commitment, she empowers individuals to overcome obstacles and emerge as stronger, healthier versions of themselves. Erin’s exceptional skill set is reinforced by a remarkable array of certifications. Holding the titles of ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer) and LT (Licensed Athletic Trainer), she brings a wealth of knowledge and proficiency to her practice. Moreover, her attainment of FMS Level 1 certification further solidifies her dedication to staying at the cutting edge of her field.

Their extensive training and certification ensure that you receive the highest standard of guidance and support throughout your fitness journey. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science at Denison University, Trey is equipped with the latest evidence-based practices and cutting-edge research in the field of exercise and human performance. This academic background allows them to apply scientific principles and techniques to optimize your training routine, ensuring maximum effectiveness and results. Trey’s athletic prowess is not limited to the academic realm alone. They have also achieved the impressive feat of being an NCAA All-American football running back, demonstrating their dedication, discipline, and exceptional physical abilities. With firsthand experience as a high-level athlete, Trey understands the importance of pushing boundaries, setting ambitious goals, and overcoming obstacles to reach your full potential. We also offer advanced functional equipment from Torque Fitness, along with state-of-the-art strength training machines and free weights from Matrix, Technogym, and Precor. From bands and TRXs to wall balls, Wattbikes, squat racks, and deadlift platforms, we provide everything you need to support any workout plan with the highest quality products.

At Ajax Fitness, our spacious open-layout facility is designed to cater to every aspect of your workout. We offer multiple squat racks, a dedicated deadlift platform, and a specialized functional turf zone for sled pushes and agility drills. Our facility is fully equipped with free weights, benches, and pin-loaded machines to meet all your strength training needs. As the only Health Center & Gym in Aspen with a private recovery room, we provide exclusive access to a cold plunge and sauna for your post-workout rejuvenation. Additionally, our recovery tools include massage guns, vibration rollers, and stretching aids to help you unwind and recover efficiently. We also feature premium locker rooms with showers and secure lockers, ensuring your comfort and convenience during every visit.
